I am a British-trained specialist GOsC Osteopath registered with:
General Osteopathic Council of the United Kingdom (GOsC)
British Osteopathic Association
World Osteopathic Health Organisation
Society for the Promotion of Manual Practice Osteopathy (BC)
I have practised osteopathy in Canada (Montreal, Quebec and Vancouver, British Columbia) and in England (London and Cheshire).
I graduated with a professional primary-care osteopathic (honours) degree from the British School of Osteopathy in London, England and have been practising as an Osteopath since my graduation in 1995.
My osteopathic degree is a specialised medically-based program in osteopathic diagnosis, palpation and treatment with extensive mandatory clinical training from within the largest college osteopathic clinic in Europe.
As a post-graduate, I am trained in the safe use and application of ultrasound therapy, interferential therapy and low level laser therapy. This is in addition to my mandatory continuing professional development (CPD) education requirements as an osteopath.
I have extensive osteopathic experience from both sides of the Atlantic:

Appointments with Marc Jones, DO (UK), your specialist GOsC Osteopath
On your first visit, and before examination begins, I will discuss and record your
medical history in detail. You will then normally be asked to remove some of your clothing so
that a series of observations and physical assessments can be made.
I will then apply a highly developed sense of touch called palpation to identify any areas of weakness or excessive strain that may be causing your symptoms. If indicated, further investigations may include an x-ray or blood
test requested through your physician. Following a full diagnosis of your problem, I will be able to tailor a
treatment plan to your needs.
I will always try to make you feel at ease and tell you what is happening throughout your
consultation. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask, as I am here to help you. If further medical treatment is
needed, I may need to contact your doctor, with your permission.
There is a potential for confusion between the terms 'Osteopath' and 'osteopathic physician'.
British-trained Osteopaths that are registered with the GOsC (UK) are specialised mainstream healthcare providers similar to doctors and chiropractors. We are healthcare professionals whom have a highly developed sense of palpatory skill that is used to detect abnormalities and to provide safe effective osteopathic manipulative treatments.
I am a fully trained GOsC (UK) registered Osteopath and proud of it. Do not confuse me with a US-style osteopathic physician or someone that has taken part-time osteopathic courses, neither of whom receive as much dedicated osteopathic manipulative training.
I have studied osteopathy full-time in the largest educational out-patient clinic for Osteopaths in Europe (London, England).
There is nothing comparable within North America.
